All of us sort through our closets and de-clutter, however when was the last time you have been ruthless together with your make-up bag? You may ensure that it is not too long ago.
Actually I’ll guess that you’ve a minimum of 1 or 2 products which were hidden in there for some-time, years most likely. Listed here are some prime tips about how are you going to get the very best out of your make-up?
1. Start at the beginning. Clear out your make-up bag. Anything you have not worn for the maximum of a year, you aren’t going to wear again. Whether, the item is an expensive lipstick or eye shadow palette, be ruthless.
2. Less is more. How many lipsticks can you wear at once? Look at your colour palette. Each season brings in a different colour palette; pinks in summer, browns in autumn. Buy what suits you.
As a guide, everyone should have 1 neutral shade and a red shade if you dare! The same goes for eye and lip pencils, mascaras, eye shadows and foundations.

3. Back to basics; start with your foundation. When was the last time you upgraded your foundation? Seek out advice from the beauty counter at any one of the department stores for advice on colour, texture etc. Whom you choose is a matter of preference.
Never buy foundation without trying it out first. Ask for a sample to try at home, go out into the natural light to check on the colour match. I normally have 2 different foundations on-the-go. What is in my make-up bag? I also recommend Bare Minerals, (bareessentuals).
I invested in the starter pack initially, as the pack includes 3 brushes, a base colour, a tint (or bronzer) and a finishing powder. Don’t forget; less is more when applying. Use a brush, sponge or if you use your fingers, make sure they are clean.
4. If your eyebrows have not been shaped in a while, then please go any have them shaped professionally. You will be amazed at the difference. Your eyebrows frame your face.
5. Eye care. Pick a neutral colour for over the eyelid, then sweep under the brow with a highlighter. In the crease of the eye you can then apply a deeper colour. Go online to look at the many videos on u tube that will show you how to apply eye-shadow.

6. Mascara. Allow the first application to dry before you apply a second coat. Change your mascara every 3 months, or so as you may find that your mascara becomes tacky and may ‘clog’.
7. Eye pencils, chose a pencil which is softer than a liquid liner and you can also achieve a smudged look.
8. Blusher, again less is more. Apply on the apple of the cheeks and then sweep upwards and outwards to the cheek bones.

9. Finish off with lipstick and lip liner. Apply a moisturizer first to your lips and then dab your lips with a little foundation to give the lips a base.
Apply your lipstick with a brush, then dab your lips on a tissue before applying a second coat, (it should last a little longer). Follow the natural outline of your lips with your lip pencil (choose a similar shade).
10. Invest in a set of make-up brushes. Using brushes gives you a more professional finish. Invest in the best you can afford, but remember to wash them gently and regularly.
11. Treat yourself to a new make-up bag that will fit comfortably in your handbag. You don’t have to carry the whole of your kit around with you. Just keep the basics with you.
