Michael Kiwanuka is the first headliner announced for the 20th anniversary of the Green Man Festival.

Last year, the Mercury Prize-winning musician Michael Kiwanuka was scheduled to headline the festival, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation.
This will be Kiwanuka’s fourth time performing at the festival, and he’ll perform a selection of favourite tracks, including “Love & Hate” and “Home Again”.
Fiona Stewart, managing director and owner of the Green Man festival, said the full line-up will be announced next year: “We’re so looking forward to celebrating Green Man’s big 20th birthday with lots of wonderful surprises and the best party ever,” she said.

Besides music and art installations, the festival will contain science and education booths to engage children and adults in discussions, experiments, and crafts.
Kiwanuka became known after supporting British singer Adele on her tour in 2011 and after winning the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll. He left the Royal Academy of Music to become a solo artist.
Kiwanuka, his self-titled third album released in June, won the UK Album of the Year award at the MPG Awards. Additionally, ‘Kiwanuka’ was nominated at the BRIT Awards and the Grammy Awards for its exploration of race and its own cultural heritage.
