Shaxi is a portmanteau of the words ‘Shatta’ and ‘taxi.’ The company will operate under the name Shaxi and will be among the musician’s investments, which also include interests in the music business and real estate.
The singer will now compete with other ridesharing services in Ghana, such as Uber, Bolt and Yango.
The ‘Hajia bintu’ hitmaker said it fits in with his vision to fund employment within his country: “We are going to be able to employ Shaka Movement fans,” he said.
“The youth will be employed, the street people will be employed, yes, we can all help reduce the unemployment rate.”
Additionally, Shatta Wale (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shatta_Wale) assured prospective drivers that they would have good working conditions.
”The Shaxi team has worked hard to get everything right, and finally, they are ready to get things right. So, to all my drivers constantly complaining about being cheated, please don’t worry, you are about to enjoy your work as drivers, Shaxi has you covered.”
Shatta Wale has announced that he is releasing Gift of God later this year. The album was originally scheduled to drop last year but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had originally planned to drop the album this year, but on second thought, given the devastation caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to delay the release for 2021,” he explained.
During the BBC interview in 2020, Shatta Wale said, “This is an album where I intend to collaborate with a couple of artists.”
”Since people know me for creating albums purely by myself, mixing and mastering my own beats, I will be doing collaborations with Beyoncé and Vybz Kartel.”
