Two of South Africa’s most influential media personalities, Bontle Moloi and Lawrence Maleka, will host the 2021 South African Music Awards.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA — This year’s 27th Annual South African Music Awards will be hosted by Bontle Moloi and Lawrence Maleka and will be broadcast live on SABC1 on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
As a result of the COVID-19 lockdown, this year’s SAMAs will be virtual, and the evening will kick off with a red carpet gala on SABC 1’s The Real Goboza show at 7.30 p.m.
Bontle Moloi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bontle_Modiselle) commented, “I’m thrilled to be participating in the 2021 South African Music Awards (SAMAs).”
She said, “It comes full circle for me because two years ago I hosted the SAMA25 red carpet, so to be on the main stage is nothing short of mind-blowing.”
Lawrence Maleka expressed his gratitude for the call-up to host the 2021 South African Music Awards (SAMAs). This work – be it music, TV or the arts – inspires complete strangers to take notice.
Maleka said: ‘I am grateful for the call-up to host the 2021 South African Music Awards (SAMAs). The work we do is magical, whether it’s music, television or the arts, we always hope it resonates with those whom we reach out to.”
”It’s great to be working with Bontle. We have a big-brother, little-sister relationship that we have rekindled. We will produce a show that will help the nation ignore the harsh economic climate for two hours.”
