Tom Thibodeau Is the New Head Coach for New York Knicks

The New York Knicks will sign former Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau as their next head coach.

Since his suspension, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a classic “Woz bomb” on Saturday afternoon, he announced that the New York Knicks will sign former Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau as their next head coach.

• Thibodeau will return to the Knicks after serving as an assistant from 1996-2004.

Thibodeau will return to the New York Knicks as head coach after serving as an assistant from 1996-2004. Although the exact dollars have not been confirmed, the deal is said to be for five years.

During the five years he was there, Thibodeau took the Chicago Bulls to the playoffs. He also ended the Minnesota Timberwolves playoff drought when he was a coach there. Other candidates for the job include Kenny Atkinson, Mike Miller and Mike Woodson.

According to sources, Coach Thibo may be part of Woodson’s staff as an assistant.

Coaching Knicks is a lofty task for anyone, especially given their shortcomings over a decade. Leon Rose and the rest of the management feel that Thibodeau is the guy to bring them back again.

Considering his experience in New York and the successes he has already achieved in the NBA, this is not a brainstorm. He will get a young Knicks team that, given a list, has been in its best form for a long time.

With youngsters like RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randall and Kevin Knox to go with three first-round picks this year, the Knicks are finally on the right track.

That being said, the Knicks are still two stars away from being true rivals in the East. One can, of course, be made at home.

With the positive backgrounds of Thibodeau and the reputations of Rose and World Wide Wes in the front office, a second can be recruited. Knicks fans should be excited.

The team finally makes meaningful moves.
