Voting for Ghana’s most prestigious music awards, the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, is now open for its 22nd edition.

It honours and recognizes music achievements in Ghana and across the continent. It is organised by Charterhouse Ghana in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Presented by Vodafone, the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards boasts support from DSTV, CloseUp, Mentos, KPMG and Charterhouse.
Earlier this month the VGMA 2021 nominees were announced, with over a hundred nominees cutting across 29 categories. Various genres of music will be recognized during this year’s edition, including highlife, Afropop, hip-hop and traditional music, among others.

“Voting for the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is divided into three categories: the board, the academy, and the public,” a statement stated.
”Honorary Awards are determined by the board, and technical awards are divided 50:50 between the board and academy. For the general public (popular) awards, the board has 30% of the vote, the academy 30% of the vote, and the public 40% of the vote,” it added.
Voting at 2021 VGMA
Only Vodafone users can vote by SMS. To vote for Artist of the Year, fans can text ‘A’ to the shortcode 1767. To vote for Vodafone Song of the Year, text ‘B’ to the shortcode 1767. Text ‘C’ to 1767 for all other categories.
On top of that, you can also vote online for free on the VGMAs’ official website.
