Ugandan gospel singers Desire Luzinda and Levixone are engaged, the couple confirmed over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, July 26, Levixone, 32, shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing his proposal to Luzinda, 40, a fellow gospel artist known for hits like Ekitone. The two have been in a relationship for several years.
In the post, Levixone told his 38,800 followers that he had “kept this close to my heart” for years.
“I prayed for purpose, and God gave me the love of my life,” he wrote. “He was writing a story I couldn’t see, full of grace, joy and quiet miracles. My best friend said ‘YES’ — my answered prayer, my forever, the Woman of God.”

The couple’s relationship, which has been the subject of rumors for months, became public when Levixone posted a photo on Instagram on July 21. The image showed his hand and a woman’s hand wearing a ring. His caption read: “Right person. Right time. She said yes to forever.”
Luzinda, who recently returned to Uganda from California, has one daughter, Michelle Kaddu. She had previously dismissed rumors linking her to Levixone. In February, she wrote on Facebook that she was “happily single and raising Michelle,” adding, “FYI, raising Michelle is all I am about.”
Their engagement sparked reactions from fellow artists, celebrities and even corporate brands.
Media personality Miss Deedan commented, “Congratulations to you and your partner! We pray for a loving, healthy, prayerful marriage for both of you.”
Veteran singer Halima Namakula posted: “Wululululu, mummy is so happy for both of you. May the good Lord guide you on how to keep a long-lasting relationship.”
Video director Edrine Paul wrote, “Congratulations Bantu Bange.” MTN Uganda chimed in with, “Embaga yadi? Congratulations Musumba.”
Fellow musicians Feffe Buusi and BigEye StarBoss both shared, “Congratulations bro.”

Luzinda, now based in California, is a recording and performing artist, philanthropist and founder of the Desire Luzinda Foundation International, which she launched in June 2021. Her music draws inspiration from artists like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
Levixone, born Lucas Lubyogo, is one of Uganda’s most recognized gospel musicians, with international and local accolades. His awards include the 2018 Sauti Awards for East African Male Artist of the Year and the 2021 Vine Awards for Male Artist of the Year.
Neither artist has shared details about a wedding date.
