EcoRich Solutions has been named Africa’s winner of the KPMG Private Enterprise Global Tech Innovator 2026 competition and will represent the continent at the global finals in Lisbon in November.
More than 100 technology businesses from across Africa entered this year’s competition, with 10 companies selected as finalists after the initial evaluation.
EcoRich was selected as the overall winner by an independent judging panel that assessed the finalists on innovation, growth potential, entrepreneurial spirit, customer focus and risk management.
The company has developed the “Wastebot Decomposer Machine”, a technology that converts organic waste into organic fertilizer within 24 hours.
According to the company, the fertilizer is designed to provide small-scale farmers with a more affordable and sustainable source of nutrients for their crops, with the potential to support yields, livelihoods and environmental protection.

The competition, now in its sixth year, gives emerging technology companies an opportunity to present their businesses to investors, industry leaders and other entrepreneurs while competing for the global title.
This year’s regional competition also recognized The Marking App from Southern Africa and Minie Money from West Africa as runners-up.
EcoRich will now compete against technology innovators from other regions at the global finals, where participants will present their businesses to an international audience of investors, business leaders and industry experts.
