CANAL+ and the Confederation of African Football have announced an agreement under which SuperSport will broadcast the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers and finals across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The announcement comes as the qualifying campaign for the tournament gets underway, with 48 nations divided into 12 groups of four. The teams will play six matchdays between September 2026 and March 2027 to determine the 24-team finals lineup.
The first two matchdays began on Sept. 24 and will run through Oct. 6. The remaining fixtures are scheduled for Nov. 9-17, 2026, and March 22-30, 2027.
CANAL+ Africa Chief Executive David Mignot said the arrangement would allow viewers to follow their national teams from qualification through the finals.
“We are thrilled to bring the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 Qualifiers and the tournament itself to SuperSport, giving football fans across the continent the opportunity to follow their national teams from the opening stages of qualification through to the biggest moments of the finals,” said Mignot.

East Africa prepares for AFCON
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will jointly host AFCON PAMOJA 2027 from June 19 to July 17, with the opening match scheduled for June 19 and the final for July 17. It will be the first AFCON jointly hosted by three countries and the first edition staged in East Africa since Ethiopia hosted the tournament in 1976.
The three hosts are already guaranteed places in the finals. Kenya are in Group D, Uganda in Group H and Tanzania in Group L. Because each host occupies a place automatically, only the highest-placed non-host team in each of those groups will join the host in qualifying. In the other groups, the top two teams advance.
That structure gives added importance to the opening matches involving the host nations. Uganda began its campaign away to Tunisia on Sept. 24, while Kenya opened against Eritrea on Sept. 26. Tanzania also started its Group L campaign against Guinea-Bissau on Sept. 25.
Qualifying campaign underway
Several of Africa’s established national teams are among the sides competing for the remaining finals places.
Morocco hosted Gabon on Sept. 25, while Egypt faced Angola on the same day. Algeria played Zambia, Senegal met Mozambique and Nigeria began its Group L campaign against Madagascar. South Africa faced Guinea on Sept. 26.
Nigeria’s campaign has particular significance because Tanzania’s automatic qualification leaves only one remaining qualifying place in Group L. Nigeria, Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau are competing for that place.
The qualifying campaign will resume in November before its final two matchdays in March 2027. The 24 finalists will then compete in East Africa from June 19 to July 17.
The supplied announcement also states that CANAL+ will broadcast the qualifiers in French across more than 20 French-speaking Sub-Saharan African countries, while SuperSport will carry the competition across its Sub-Saharan African markets.
