Andrew Ojambo, popularly known as Daddy Andre, recently disclosed the reasons behind his decision to leave the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), an association led by Eddy Kenzo.
When questioned about his allegiance between the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) and UNMF, Daddy Andre clarified that he now represents UMA, despite having been part of the Eddy Kenzo-led federation for a period.
Regarding his departure from UNMF, Daddy Andre expressed concern about the federation’s inability to distinguish between the federation’s works and the individual artists. He also criticized the leaders for disbanding established associations and creating fake ones when disagreements arose during a meeting of various associations.
Notably, Daddy Andre is not the first prominent musician to leave UNMF, joining a growing number of respected artists who have distanced themselves from the federation.
