Bell Lager, the flagship brand of Uganda Breweries Limited, has announced a lead sponsorship of Congolese musician Koffi Olomide’s concert in Gulu City on October 9, as the brand expands its Obafest platform to Northern Uganda.
The concert will be held at Northern Pearl Hotel Garden along Gulu-Kitgum Road and is being organised by Open Mic Uganda. The event is listed on MTicket for Friday, October 9, 2026.
Olomide, whose full name is Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, is a veteran of Congolese rumba and ndombolo. His career includes songs such as “Loi,” “Effrakata” and “Selfie,” which have helped establish his profile across Africa.
The Gulu concert will also feature Ugandan performers including dancehall singer Cindy, Eezzy, Batman, Jelly G and Lucky David. Comedian Patrick Salvado is expected to host the programme, according to the event announcement.
Bell Lager said the sponsorship is part of Obafest, its beer festival platform built around music, food and social events. The company has previously held Obafest activities in Gulu, including a mini-event in the city in 2023.

Lilian Kansiime, Brand Manager for Bell Lager, said the partnership was intended to bring the brand’s music and entertainment activities to consumers outside Kampala.
“As Uganda’s very own beer, Bell Lager celebrates culture, social connection and the arts.”
She said the Gulu event would give local audiences an opportunity to attend an international concert alongside Ugandan artists.
“The partnership for the Koffi Olomide concert in Gulu reflects our commitment to bringing premium music experiences to consumers.”
The concert falls on Uganda’s Independence Day weekend and is expected to draw audiences from Gulu and neighbouring areas.
Ticket prices range from UGX 50,000 for ordinary advance tickets to UGX 200,000 for VIP tickets purchased at the gate. Platinum packages for groups are priced at UGX 3 million.
The organisers have listed Northern Pearl Hotel, Stop Over Bar and Davinci Café as ticket outlets in Gulu, with tickets also available online through MTicket. The ticketing platform confirms the October 9 date and Northern Pearl Hotel Garden venue.
Northern Pearl identifies itself as a hotel and events venue in Gulu’s Senior Quarters.
The concert will mark Olomide’s latest performance in Uganda following his appearance at Afrigo Band’s 50th anniversary celebration in Kampala in August 2025, according to reporting on his upcoming Gulu appearance.
