Airtel Uganda has partnered with global tech firm Cisco to introduce a new enterprise solution aimed at easing how businesses access and manage their IT networks.
The service, called Network as a Service (NaaS), allows businesses to use a fully managed and secure network infrastructure without needing to invest in physical hardware upfront.
The launch was held at the Kampala Serena Hotel, drawing customers, Airtel Uganda executives, Cisco representatives, and members of the media.
Speaking at the event, Airtel Uganda’s Network Director, Rajesh Agarwal, said the service was designed to ease the technical burden on businesses.
“At Airtel, we believe in a Uganda where businesses can focus on what they do best – serving customers, creating jobs, and innovating,” he said.
“With Network as a Service, we’re removing the burden of managing complex IT infrastructure. This is a shift in how enterprise networking is done.”

He said the solution was suitable for businesses of all sizes and sectors, from startups in Bugolobi to financial firms operating across East Africa.
“Whether you’re a startup in Bugolobi, a retail chain in Gulu, or a financial institution with operations across East Africa, this service meets you where you are and grows with you.”
”This solution combines the technical excellence of Cisco with Airtel’s global infrastructure and deep understanding of Ugandan businesses.”
The service includes features such as on-demand scaling of network resources, built-in security including firewalls and encryption, and access to around-the-clock technical support. It’s powered by Cisco technology but delivered through Airtel’s infrastructure in Uganda.

Javed Johar, Account Executive for Cisco Architecture, said the solution was designed to support modern business needs.
“We’re proud to partner with Airtel Uganda on this transformative solution,” he said.
“Businesses today need networks that are agile, secure, and intelligent. NaaS delivers exactly that while freeing up internal teams to focus on innovation.”
The launch reflects Airtel Uganda’s broader strategy to support digital transformation across the country. The company says it wants to provide simple, intuitive experiences for customers through more streamlined digital services.
