Sad Romance, the 12-track debut album from Nigerian singer CKay, is now available for streaming and download via all major streaming services.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA (https://lifestyleuganda.com/) — Nigerian singer Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage name CKay released his debut album Sad Romance, which is available for streaming and download on every major streaming platform.
There are also previously-released singles like ‘Emiliana’, ‘Watawi’, and ‘You’ as well as the global chart-topper of 2019 ‘Love Nwantiti’.
On the ‘Sad Romance’ album, CKay welcomes Nigerian singers Ayra Starr and Davido, South African singers Focalistic, as well as Cape Verdean singers Mayra Andrade and Ronisia.
Afro-pop, soul, R&B, jazz and Afrohouse combine in “Sad Romance” to depict CKay’s journey through romantic relationships.
His father was a choirmaster and taught him how to play the piano from a young age. CKay is one of Afrobeats’ most recognizable faces.
After signing a record deal with Chocolate City in 2016, CKay released his first single ‘Nkechi Turn Up’ under that label. In 2017, he released his debut EP ‘WTFiCKay’.
In 2019, CKay released the sophomore EP ‘CKay The First’ with the track ‘Love Nwantiti’ at the center. Besides being popular in countries such as Morocco, India, and Portugal, ‘Love Nwantiti’ also holds a high place on YouTube’s ‘Top Songs Global’ and Spotify’s ‘Global Viral 100’ charts.
In addition, ‘Love Nwantiti’ has amassed over 956 million streams across different platforms. ‘Emiliana’ is the song’s successor, which has amassed over 290 million streams.
As part of the tour, Ckay will be touring multiple cities in the US, Canada, and Europe in support of his new album ‘Sad Romance’. A 22-city tour will begin on 1 October in Oakland, California, and conclude on 20 November in London. Toronto, Brussels, Copenhagen, Cologne and Paris will also be on the itinerary.
