Ugandan singer Martha Mukisa has announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl, marking a new chapter in her personal life.
The Black Magic Entertainment artist shared the news on her Instagram account on Thursday, expressing gratitude and joy over the arrival of what she described as “our little munyenye” — a term of endearment in Luganda, loosely translating to “our little star.”
“I haven’t even found the right words yet, but she’s so precious and I can’t wait to share more,” she wrote to her 142,000 followers, alongside images from a recent maternity shoot. “So thankful to God for the blessing and joy.”

Mukisa, best known for hits such as Tondeka Kemebwa, Sango, Tebatukyawa, and Mumbera, joins a growing list of Ugandan entertainers embracing motherhood while actively pursuing careers in the music industry.
Since making the announcement, the 30-year-old singer has been inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities. Musicians Karole Kasita and the duo Kataleya & Kandle were among the first to respond, welcoming her to the “motherhood family.”
“Congs boo. Welcome to motherhood,” wrote Karole Kasita, while Kataleya & Kandle added, “Congs love, webale tufula ba aunt,” which translates to “Thanks for making us aunties.”
Fashion designer Kais Divo and former Miss Uganda Sylvia Wilson Allibhai also extended their best wishes.
Martha Mukisa, whose catalogue spans afropop and R&B influences, rose to prominence with a string of radio-friendly singles and has maintained a consistent presence in Uganda’s music scene.
The singer’s partner, Moses, was also mentioned in comments on her post, although the couple have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.

Mukisa’s announcement has resonated with fans across the country, not just for its emotional sincerity but for the quiet strength it reflects — a common thread among many modern Ugandan artists balancing fame with family life.
