Ugandan musician Mikie Wine has publicly criticised fellow artist Cindy Sanyu for scheduling her upcoming concert on the same day as his younger brother, Dax Vibez—calling the move disappointing and unhelpful to the industry.
Dax Vibez, born Ivan Bugembe Sentamu, announced in February that his debut concert would take place on 29 August 2025 at Hotel Africana, a major milestone in his music career that spans nearly a decade. However, tensions flared when Cindy Sanyu, popularly known as “The King Herself,” revealed via Instagram that she would host her own show at Millennial Park on the same date.
Speaking in a televised interview with BBS Terefayina, Mikie Wine expressed his discontent with Cindy’s timing, saying it undermined efforts to support emerging talent.
“I cannot be happy with any artist putting a concert on the same date as my brother,” he said. “These things happen, but it’s not good. Personally, I will attend Dax’s concert because he told me about it first. I support his hustle and career—he has made good music and deserves to be appreciated.”
The Firebase Crew singer further condemned what he described as a growing trend of artists crowding the events calendar, making it difficult for fans to support multiple performers.
Having faced a similar experience with artist Gravity Omutujju in September 2024, Mikie encouraged his brother to stay focused and confident.
“There is a reason why he chose that date,” Mikie said. “God will show him that it was meant to be. I know he will win.”

Meanwhile, Dax Vibez confirmed that he had attempted to reach out to Cindy to discuss a possible rescheduling, but said his efforts only led to a conversation with her concert promoter. The discussion, according to him, did not end on good terms.
“I reached out to discuss the dates and how we could support each other on different days, but it didn’t end well,” he said. “I’m just going through with it. I cannot change my date because I had already booked the places.”
Dax Vibez is known for tracks like Believe featuring Vinka, Tabbu with Ava Peace, and At My Door. His debut concert at Hotel Africana marks a significant moment in his journey as a solo artist and is expected to draw support from both fans and fellow musicians.
Cindy Sanyu has yet to comment publicly on the controversy.
