Nigerian actor Moses Armstrong was arrested by police in Akwa Ibom for allegedly raping a 16-year-old minor.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA — Moses Armstrong, a popular Nollywood actor and singer, was arrested by Akwa Ibom state policemen for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.
Before being arrested, the movie producer worked as the governor’s Special Assistant.
He has acted in films like ‘Bridge of No Return’ and ‘Udeme Mmi’.
In confirming his arrest, Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, called it a “serious case”, saying such acts are not tolerated by any member of the organization.
He added that the case is being handled by the First Lady of the state, Martha Udom Emmanuel, through her Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative.
In the year 2018, Moses Armstrong, a father of two, tragically lost his wife, Rita Armstrong, to a fatal accident. According to local reports, Rita suffered spinal cord injuries in the accident that killed her.

The Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) bus she was travelling in got involved in a disastrous crash on the Benin-Ore-Lagos Expressway during the Ugbogui axis.
