Muhammad Ssegirinya, the MP for Kawempe North, has passed away at just 36. Rubaga Hospital broke the news on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
According to the hospital, he died at 12:10 PM after a long fight with an illness that had taken a serious toll on him in recent months.
“We’re deeply saddened to announce the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya,” the hospital said in a statement. “Despite everything we did to help him recover, he passed away earlier today.”
“With deep sorrow, Rubaga Hospital announces the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Honorable Member of Parliament for Kawempe North,” the statement read. “Despite everything we did to help him recover, he passed away earlier today.”
Earlier that day, Sr. Grace Nanyondo, the hospital’s acting executive director, had shared that his condition was “critical” and asked people to keep him in their prayers.
