Uganda national football team head coach Paul Put has named a 28-man squad for upcoming international friendlies against Cameroon and The Gambia, both to be held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
The first fixture sees the Cranes face five-time African champions Cameroon on Friday, 6th June, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 local time (10:00 PM EAT). They will return to action on Monday, 9th June, against The Gambia at 16:00 local time (6:00 PM EAT).
At 68, Put is drawing on his decades of coaching experience to balance youth and experience in the team selection. The squad features 12 players from the domestic StarTimes Uganda Premier League and 16 professionals based abroad—spanning Europe, North America, and across Africa—underscoring a growing reliance on Ugandan talent gaining international exposure.
Local-based players and technical staff are set to report to FUFA House in Mengo at midday on Monday, 2nd June, before departing for Marrakech later that evening. Foreign-based players will join the camp directly in Morocco.
These friendlies serve as critical tests for the Cranes as they prepare for upcoming competitive fixtures, with Coach Put looking to fine-tune team cohesion and assess individual performances on the international stage.
