Tems is bringing her Born In The Wild tour to Johannesburg, and she’s tapped South African R&B star Elaine to open the show on March 20, 2025, at The Dome in Nasrec.
The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter has been on a roll, riding the success of her debut album, Born In The Wild, which dropped under RCA/Since ’93. The 18-track project features hits like Me & U and Love Me Jeje, building on the momentum from her earlier EPs, For Broken Ears (2020) and If Orange Was a Place (2021).
Elaine, best known for You’re The One and Risky, has been making waves in the R&B scene. Her latest album, Stone Cold Heart, came out in October last year. She also made history as the first independent female artist to top Apple Music’s Sub-Saharan African charts and has bagged nominations at the BET and AFRIMMA awards.
Tems, whose standout tracks include Free Mind and Higher, has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Future and Drake. She’s been nominated for eight Grammys and took home her first in 2023 for WAIT FOR YOU, her collab with the two rappers, which won Best Melodic Rap Performance.
