Ugandan gospel singer and pastor Wilson Bugembe has announced plans for a major concert to celebrate 20 years in the music industry.
The show, set for 8 August 2025 at Kampala’s Serena Hotel, will mark two decades since Bugembe first stepped onto the gospel music scene. He revealed the news during Easter Sunday celebrations, calling on fans to join him for what he described as a night of gratitude and reflection.
“I will be celebrating 20 years of my gospel music journey this year,” Bugembe said. “The show will take place on 8 August at Serena Hotel in Kampala. I call upon Ugandans to come out in big numbers and support me.”
Over the years, Bugembe has become one of Uganda’s most respected gospel voices. As lead pastor of The Worship House in Nansana, he has built a following not just through the pulpit, but through songs that speak to perseverance, faith, and healing.
Earlier this year, Bugembe said he was inspired to stage the concert after attending fellow singer Spice Diana’s press conference. Watching her mark 10 years in music, he said, made him reflect on his own path and the fans who’ve supported him since day one.
The idea quickly took shape after a conversation with KT Promotions—the same promoter who first believed in him as a teenage singer. Bugembe recalled how his first major show, held at Hotel Africana, came during his Senior Six vacation.
Born in 1984 in Masaka to Mr and Mrs Kirabira, Bugembe was orphaned at a young age and spent part of his childhood on the streets. He would later attend university, though only briefly, before turning fully to music and ministry.
He began recording professionally at 19, releasing his debut album Yellow. His breakout track, Njagala Kumanya, earned widespread airplay and established him as a fresh and honest voice in Ugandan gospel music.
Now, two decades later, Bugembe is preparing to celebrate the journey—with the fans who helped shape it.
