Equity Bank Uganda has committed UGX 50 million to support a three-day crusade hosted by Miracle Centre Cathedral in Kampala, an event expected to draw tens of thousands of worshippers and church leaders.

The event will feature internationally known evangelist Benny Hinn, who is returning to Uganda for the first time in years. The crusade is scheduled for June 27 and 28, with a Leaders’ Conference set for June 29. Services begin at 7 p.m. local time, with doors opening at 5 p.m.

The cheque was handed over by Catherine Psomgen, the bank’s Director of Public Sector and Social Investments, to Pastor Robert Kayanja, founder of Miracle Centre Cathedral and Channel 44 TV.

“We are always proud to stand with the Church and Christians in Uganda,” the bank said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter. “United by faith and the power to transform lives.”

The bank says the move is part of broader community development efforts with Miracle Centre Cathedral.

The donation marks the latest chapter in an ongoing partnership between Equity Bank and Kayanja’s ministry. In 2023, the two teamed up on an agricultural transformation project in Karamoja—an effort to strengthen food security in one of Uganda’s most vulnerable regions.

“This partnership aligns with our purpose of transforming lives and restoring dignity in vulnerable communities,” a bank representative said. “It also supports our Africa Recovery and Resilience Plan, particularly our goal to channel 30% of our total lending towards agriculture and community-based impact.”

The upcoming crusade is expected to blend faith with what organizers call “community transformation,” drawing worshippers from Uganda and neighboring countries. Benny Hinn, a globally recognized preacher known for his healing services, is the main speaker.

“This is my personal invitation, especially for my partners and friends from all around the world,” Hinn said in a video message. “Join me for a powerful crusade in Uganda, Kampala — in person!”

He added:
“I’m excited for you to join me for anointed worship, ministry, and miracles. I have a powerful word to share as the presence of God will be so rich. Come expecting wonderful things from our precious Lord Jesus, and be sure to invite your loved ones and friends!”

The event will be streamed live on Benny Hinn Ministries’ platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.
