Food and cultural entertainment
The festival will offer visitors an opportunity to sample different Indian regional cuisines while experiencing aspects of Indian culture in Kampala.
The programme combines food, shopping and entertainment, with activities intended to accommodate families and other members of the public.
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an important celebration in Indian culture. It is traditionally associated with the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Its observance brings together religious and cultural traditions across different Indian communities.
The Kampala festival provides a public setting for celebrating aspects of that heritage through food and entertainment, while bringing together people from different backgrounds.
Speke Resort Munyonyo, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, will host the afternoon and evening activities.
