Former Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo, has added another accolade to her name – this time in academia. She has graduated with a Master’s degree from the School of Global Digital Innovation in South Korea.
Abenakyo first came to prominence in 2018 when she beat 21 contestants to win both the Miss Uganda and Miss Africa crowns. Now, she has taken her ambitions further through education.
She credits her success to faith. “I give the glory to God,” she said, adding that her achievements were possible because of “divine intervention”.

The 29-year-old also thanked those who stood by her. “I’m grateful to my professors, mentors, colleagues, and the unwavering support of my family and friends,” she wrote.
On X, formerly Twitter, she shared a short post: “My master’s degree. Thank you to all who’ve been part of this incredible journey.”
Born in Mayuge District in eastern Uganda in 1996, Abenakyo is the daughter of Charles Sembera, a Musoga, and Alice Kyamulesire, a Mutooro from Kabarole District.
Her education journey has taken her from St Joseph’s Girls School in Nsambya, to Merryland High School in Entebbe, then to Makerere University Business School (MUBS), where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Computing.
Beyond the classroom, Abenakyo has used her platform to advocate for girls’ education and youth empowerment through the Quiin Abenakyo Foundation.
