Lizzo signed with Amazon Studios a First Look TV deal

Amazon Studios made a very wise choice in creating this deal with Lizzo.

A First Look deal with Amazon Studios has been signed by Lizzo. The rapper, singer and flute extraordinary announced the deal with co-heads of the Amazon TV division on Thursday.

First Look deal

On Thursday, Lizzo and TV co-chairs Vernon Sanders and Albert Cheng announced during a press conference at a virtual television critics’ association. Lizzo briefly phoned the meeting to express her excitement about the deal.

In the entertainment industry, a first-hand contract pays a negotiated price for an independent writer or artist to allow a particular studio first-tips in their work. This happens before they complete a script or pitch.

This gives the studio the first look of the finished product and the first opportunity to purchase it. By law, Amazon bought the first disclaimer.

In this case, it’s like a freelance contact. Amazon Studios has such a big budget to go with its huge audience that they can win any bidding war they want to enter. Translated; Lizzo will create exclusive content for their streaming site.

Honeymoon phase

Both parties are very excited about their new partnership. During the call, Albert Cheng referred to Lizzo as a “positive force.” Jennifer Salke, President of Amazon Studios, said:

“Lizzo is one of the most enthusiastic, creative and happy artists in the industry. It’s a great pleasure to announce this new deal with her … She has such a unique perspective, and we’re so excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video clients want to make sure.”

The beloved singer was delighted to have a new platform to create art. She said:

“I am so happy to be partnering with the amazing team at Amazon… Thanks to Jen Salke and the rest of the team for making this dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world. “

A creative force

Amazon Studios made a very wise choice in creating this deal with Lizzo. The singer has won three Grammys over the past two years and has gone platinum several times. Her singles “Good as Hell”, “Truth Hurts” and Cuz I Love You album have all gone platinum.

She has become a significant fashion icon and symbol for the body-positive movement. What made Lizzo an excellent addition to the creative team at Amazon Studios is that her relevance to all of her accomplishments is evident.
