Ugandan companies are rallying together to contribute to the upcoming Busoga royal wedding, scheduled for November 18, 2023, with a goal of preserving culture, values, and traditions. This collective effort has already raised a substantial sum of Shs1.7 billion from various corporations.
Eng Patrick Batumya, the chairperson of the organizing committee, emphasized the importance of the community’s support in making the royal wedding a success. Several notable contributions have been made, including Shs198 million from Nation Media Group, Shs500 million from Next Media Services, Shs450 million from Nile Breweries Limited, Shs250 million from MTN Uganda, and Shs265 million from Airtel Uganda.
These contributions not only demonstrate the commitment of these companies to support cultural events but also reflect their dedication to fostering positive impacts in the communities where they operate.
In addition to the royal wedding, Busiki celebrations are planned in Budumbula, Iganga, and Mayuge, featuring festivities such as bull roasting, surprise entertainment, and refreshments on November 10, 11, and 17, respectively. The grand exchange of vows between Kyabazinga Wiliam Gabula Nadiope IV and Ms. Jovia Mutesi is set to take place on November 18 at Jinja’s Bugembe Christ Cathedral.
