In a city where street culture is increasingly finding a louder voice, MTN Uganda is betting big on youth expression.
This week, the telecom giant, through its youth platform MTN Pulse, announced a partnership with Linus Tattoos Studio to launch the Linus Tatts Tattoo Party—a mashup of tattoos, music, and virtual experiences aimed squarely at Kampala’s growing youth scene.
The collaboration, unveiled at a colorful launch event, offers MTN Pulse subscribers—known as Pulsers—exclusive access to discounted tattoo sessions, with 50 percent off at Linus Tattoos Studio. Bookings can be made through *175*4# or the MTN Pulse app.
For Linus Tattoos Studio, located at Plot 1 Bukoto Street near Acacia Mall, the event marks another step in expanding its reach. The studio, which has hosted tattoo parties since 2023 and was recognized by Now Then Digital as one of Kampala’s top tattoo parlors, specializes in both stationary and mobile tattoo services as well as body piercings.
The partnership underscores MTN Pulse’s broader effort to tap into what drives Uganda’s young people: fashion, digital innovation, education, health, and entertainment.
“Through MTN Pulse, we don’t just offer unbeatable data deals—we bring dreams to life,” said Steven Nsubuga, Segment Manager at MTN Uganda, during the launch. “We create platforms that inspire youth to express themselves boldly—whether it’s in music, tech, fashion, or health.”

The collaboration comes as excitement builds for the Amapiano Bash on May 16 at Kati Kati Grounds, a major music event where South African artists LeeMcKrazy and Scott Maphuma will headline. Early bird tickets are selling for 30,000 Ugandan shillings via MTN MoMo, with gate tickets priced at 50,000.
In addition to live performances, the bash will offer tattoo sessions for 30,000 shillings, free piercings, and virtual reality gaming—an effort to blend different layers of youth culture into a single night.
For MTN Uganda, it is part of a longer play: strengthening its connection to a generation that increasingly sees lifestyle, technology, and self-expression as deeply intertwined.
