Ugandan singer Omega 256 has confirmed that her highly anticipated debut concert will now take place on 19 September 2025, following a recent postponement.

The announcement was made on Monday afternoon at a press conference held at H2O Lounge in Kololo, where the artist—real name Shamim Murerwa—was joined by several fellow musicians from western Uganda.

Originally scheduled for 2 May, the concert was cancelled after a breakdown in planning between Omega 256 and her former events partner, Nobat Events. She cited a lack of preparedness as the reason behind the decision.

“I’m saddened to let you all know that our show won’t be happening on the 2nd of May as earlier communicated,” she said at the time. “My heart is so sad, and I’m so sorry to disappoint y’all. But ladies and gentlemen, on the 19th of September 2025, we are going to be at Lugogo Cricket Oval for the #OmegaLiveInConcert.”

The ‘Queen of the West’, as she is often known, said that setting a new date involved “team effort, meetings, and preparation,” and reaffirmed that the venue would remain the same, with fans from across the country encouraged to attend.

This time, the show will be organised by her management team, Diagram Evolution, after Omega opted to take full control of the concert planning process.

“Me and my management decided to organise this show ourselves,” she explained. “My team and I tried so much to have my show on the 2nd of May, but unfortunately, we failed because of the time limit and other things—some you know, others you don’t.”

The 2025 concert marks a significant milestone in Omega 256’s career, as she continues to build her name among the new wave of artists bridging regional and national audiences in Uganda’s music scene.
