Ronald Makata has been appointed as the new Chief Finance and Value Management Officer for Stanbic Bank Uganda, succeeding Abraham Ongenge, who has moved to Stanbic Bank Kenya as the Executive Head for Personal and Private Banking.
Makata, with over 17 years of experience in the financial services sector, joined Stanbic Bank in 2013 and has served in various senior roles, including financial controller and head of treasury and capital management. He is recognized for leading transformative initiatives such as strengthening financial controls across Africa, business transformation projects, client simplification, and digitization efforts.
Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Anne Juuko expressed confidence in Makata’s appointment, highlighting his experience and commitment to supporting young professionals in their career growth.
Makata, in his acceptance, expressed enthusiasm for the new responsibility, emphasizing his dedication to enhancing operational efficiency, transforming client experience, and creating value for shareholders. He holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University, and is a certified coach and professional accountant, with fellowships from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA).
