Selena Gomez is no longer the most followed person on Instagram. She has today lost her ‘most followed person on Instagram’ honour to Cristiano Ronaldo.
With 144,341,731 followers, Gomez, 26, has been the most followed person having held the title for the last 2 years on the photo sharing app.
But earlier today it was announced that the 33 year old Portuguese and Juventus soccer star had dethroned Selena Gomez with a whopping 144,391,277 followers.
In 2016, Selena surpassed fellow American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift becoming the most-followed person on Instagram till date.
The news of the most followed throne on Instagram isn’t shocking to Selena. Last month she revealed that she will be taking a break from social media to get some much needed rest.
With a total of 261 million followers on social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), last year ESPN crowned Cristiano Ronaldo aka CR7 the most famous athlete on the planet.
But despite all the fame, the father of 4 believes family is the more important than anything else.
