Africa’s contingent at the 2022 Soul Train Music Awards is led by Burna Boy, who is nominated in four category categories: Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Song of the Year, Ashford and Simpson Songwriters Award, and Video of the Year.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA ( https://lifestyleuganda.com/) — Burna Boy, Wizkid, CKay, Tems and Fireboy DML are among the West African Afrobeats stars nominated for this year’s Soul Train Awards taking place on 13 November 2022 at the Apollo Theater in Nevada, USA.
BET presents the Soul Train Music Awards to recognize the best achievements in African-American culture, including soul music, contemporary R&B, gospel, jazz, and hip hop.
The African contingent at the 2022 Soul Train Music Awards is led by Burna Boy with four nominations. He is up for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Song of the Year, The Ashford And Simpson Songwriter’s Award, and Video of the Year.
There are also other Africans on the Soul Train Music Award shortlist for 2022, such as Tems, nominated for Best New Artist, Best R&B/Soul Female Artist, and Best Collaboration, and Wizkid, who has been nominated in the Best Dance Performance category as well as the Best Collaboration category for his contribution to Chris Brown’s ‘Call Me Every Day’.
CKay and Fireboy DML will compete in the Best New Act Category at the 2022 Soul Train Awards while Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige lead the field with seven nods each.
