DJ Dimplez, real name Tumi Mooi, the SA Music Award-nominated hip hop artist, passed away Sunday after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

DJ Dimplez’s family confirmed the tragic news on Sunday evening stating that he died of a brain haemorrhage.
South African entertainment has been dealt yet another blow in the short space of six days after Riky Rick was buried, as DJ Dimplez prepares to be laid to rest.
Dimplez founded and pioneered Pop Bottles, an event series that brought celebs from around the world to celebrate the culture under one roof at a huge party.
He also started the PopCast podcast.
The DJ’s hit songs include We Ain’t Leaving, on which Anatii and L- Tido appear, and Way Up, on which Cassper Nyovest, JR, and others feature. In 2019, he released his album Kubu.
His contribution to the industry helped establish the fact that hip hop DJs were welcome in South African entertainment.
He played in clubs and festivals and his music was featured on most music charts.
