In her first public remarks since news broke of her ex-husband’s marriage, Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur Zari Hassan offered a calm, almost reflective take on Diamond Platnumz’s union with fellow Tanzanian singer Zuchu.
Speaking with Ayo TV’s Millard Ayo, the 44-year-old mother of two said, “If it’s true, I wish them luck.” She paused, then added: “Me and him are doing a good job co-parenting our kids. My kids don’t lack anything. He is the type of person whom, if you call about the kids needing something, he will pull through.”
Zari, who shares two children—Princess Tifah and Prince Nillan—with Diamond Platnumz, appeared unshaken by the development. Her tone, matter-of-fact yet warm, marked a shift from the often tumultuous narrative that has followed the Tanzanian singer’s relationships.
“So if he is finally going to settle down,” she said, “alhamdulillah.”

News of the private Islamic Nikkah ceremony in June 2025 between Diamond Platnumz—real name Naseeb Abdul Juma—and Zuchu was met with fanfare across social media. But it also sparked anticipation around what Zari, a high-profile figure in East Africa and a star on Young, Famous & African, might have to say.
She didn’t hold back.
“Didn’t the whole world pray for this?” Zari asked, before offering her own verdict. “Zuchu wins the girlfriend of the year award. She’s strong, resilient. That girl is strong. Many of us couldn’t do it.”
There was a moment of comparison—perhaps unintentionally—when she mentioned another of Diamond’s exes. “Tanasha failed, but look at Zuchu, she’s standing. Am proud of her.”
Zari’s comments also touched on the deeper dynamics between Diamond and his new wife. “I hope Naseeb treats her better now,” she said. “Because she is a wife, not just a girlfriend and his artist. That girl is putting up with a lot of sh#t from Naseeb.”
The couple’s marriage caps off a public relationship that has steadily grown in visibility since 2021. Zuchu, signed under Diamond’s WCB Wasafi label, transitioned from musical collaborator to romantic partner, becoming a regular fixture at both industry events and on Diamond’s personal social media pages.

Diamond, one of East Africa’s most prominent musical exports, has long been trailed by headlines about his love life. His relationships with Zari, Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, and Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna—each resulting in children—have fueled years of media fascination and online debate.
But for now, Zari seems content with where things stand.
“I’m happy if he’s happy,” she said. “At the end of the day, our kids are good. That’s what matters.”
