Ugandan media personality Alfa Timez has officially joined Next Media, marking the end of his three-year tenure at Galaxy FM/TV.
Alfa, whose real name is Alpha Kato Jingo Hussein, was welcomed to the media conglomerate on Tuesday by Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa. Writing on X, Kariisa said he had met Alfa earlier that morning alongside members of the broadcaster’s leadership team.
“From our chat, I totally get the hype with him – solid attitude, great hunger, and full of that fire we love to see,” Kariisa posted.
The move had been widely speculated following Alfa’s recent interactions with Next Media’s flagship brands on social media. He has since updated his Instagram bio to reflect new affiliations with Next Media Uganda and NBS Television.

While his official role has not been confirmed, reports suggest Alfa could fill a presenting slot previously held by Tuff B, who recently stepped away from television to focus on political ambitions.
Congratulatory messages have poured in online, including from rapper and songwriter Fik Fameica, who posted on X: “From BABA FM to Galaxy FM to NBS TV. Congratulations to you Alfa Timez!” The message was later shared by Alfa on his own account.
Alfa’s journey in media began in Jinja, eastern Uganda, where he started as a radio presenter at BABA FM before transitioning to BABA TV. His talent caught wider attention after joining the Kansanga-based Galaxy FM/TV, where he rose through the ranks to become brand and promotions manager.
In a farewell message, he thanked Galaxy FM and TV for the opportunity to grow professionally.
“With a thankful heart, I say goodbye to the Zzina family. From the radio mic to the TV screen — it’s been three great years of growth, fun and connection. Thank you for walking with me. Once a muzzinyi, always a muzzinyi,” he wrote.
Alfa is the founder of Tymz Creationz and holds a degree in Mass Communication from Kampala University. He attended King Fahad Primary School, Bugembe Islamic Secondary School, and East High School in Ntinda.
