Monday, at its Party headquarters in Kamwokya, the National Unity Platform (NUP) revealed the official campaign poster of its President, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

The launch was led by David Lewis Rubongoya, the Party’s General Secretary, and other NUP candidates from various Kampala municipalities. One of the participants was also Nabila Naggayi Sempala, candidate of NUP Lord Mayor.
Rubongoya said that, after being advised by the Electoral Commission of it, they decided to drop the original poster with the red beret which had the people power symbol.
“Our manifesto will be launched soon, it is in the final stages. Today we didn’t just launch the poster, but the slogan of the ‘New Uganda’ campaign.
He revealed that they intended “a new Uganda with citizens equal to the law, a New Uganda with constitutional respect, a new Uganda with free use for the Red Beret, a new Uganda with no media threats, and a new Uganda with no corruption.”
At the launch of the official campaign poster for Bobi Wine, the NUP spokesman Joel Ssenyonyi declared that their rival Party individuals (NRM), under the strict security of the police, were defacing and pulling down the posters of the candidate.
“We saw our competitors deface posters of Bobi Wine with security agency protection. But in the 2021 elections we will defeat them. Our party is founded on a good foundation, “he said.
He also revealed that on November 3, 2020, the Bobi Wine will be nominated after collecting all required nomination signatures.
Bobi Wine on Museveni’s retirement
Kyagulanyi, known by many as Bobi wine, appeared on Morning at NTV show, and said Museveni had done some good things and his time had expired.
The singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine commands large-scale support in Uganda of young people. He is seen as an opponent of the Ugandan current president Yoweri Museveni, who is due to run in February 2021 for a sixth term.
Kyagulanyi says that there needs to have a new Uganda with a new generation advised by a former President, like Museveni.
“We want to live in a country where we have a former president that is respected and to whom we are going to get advice. We want Museveni who we take good care of in his Rwakitura home,’ Kyagulanyi added.
Meanwhile, Kyagulanyi says more often, in Africa, leaders do not want to leave power because they are afraid of persecution and Museveni has to clear his name.
