CeCe Winans, the celebrated American gospel singer, has announced she will perform in Uganda this August as part of her More Than This world tour. The concert is scheduled for August 28 at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.
Born Priscilla Marie Love, Winans is widely regarded as the most awarded and best-selling female gospel artist of all time. Her stop in Kampala is one of several across Africa, with other concerts set for South Africa on August 19, Harare on August 22, and Nairobi on August 30.
The 60-year-old artist shared the news on Instagram, writing:
“Europe, Africa, Canada, Caribbean, Hawaii, and many other states… The MORE THAN THIS Tour is going worldwide! Come worship with me – God has been moving powerfully night after night, and I can’t wait to see what He’ll do next.”
“These nights in His presence have been unforgettable, and now we get to keep it going.”
In a video posted on social media, she addressed fans in Uganda directly:
“Hello my Ugandan fans, I am CeCe Winans and I can’t wait to see you at my concert at Kololo Independence grounds.”
Ticket prices range from UGX35,000 for early bird standard entry to UGX250,000 for VVIP access.

Winans has sold over 19 million records, according to certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She rose to fame in the 1980s as part of the gospel duo BeBe & CeCe Winans, alongside her brother. Though the pair disbanded without major singles, they later reunited and released six albums together.
Her solo work has consistently topped Billboard’s gospel, Christian, and R&B charts. Among her most well-known songs are Goodness of God, Come Jesus Come, and That’s My King.
She has stars on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Music City Walk of Fame, symbols of her decades-long influence in gospel music.
