Singer Dax Vibez, younger brother of opposition leader Bobi Wine, says his debut concert at Hotel Africana has been cancelled with no clear explanation.
The concert, originally scheduled for August 29, 2025, was expected to mark a major milestone in the singer’s career. But on Saturday evening, Dax Vibez—real name Ivan Bugembe Sentamu—took to social media to break the news to fans.
“After 9 months of advertising and all,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Hotel Africana has cancelled my show. I don’t know what to do next.”
The announcement came as a shock to fans, many of whom had followed months of build-up and promotional efforts. The artist said preparations had been ongoing for nearly a year, with considerable resources already committed.
No official reason was given by Hotel Africana for the cancellation. Dax Vibez, who had spoken publicly about choosing the venue due to its accessibility and atmosphere, did not confirm whether a new location was being considered.

In a February 2025 interview, he had praised the venue:
“The concert is a celebration of how far I have come,” he said at the time. “I chose Africana because I have a good relationship with them, and it’s also a comfortable place for my fans.”
The cancellation mirrors a similar incident earlier this year. In February, singer Alien Skin also had his concert pulled from the same venue under unclear circumstances.
Since the news broke, fans have flooded Dax Vibez’s Instagram, Facebook, and X accounts, expressing disappointment and calling for more transparency from the hotel.
At the time of publication, Hotel Africana had not issued a public statement.
