Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz has been battered after the government of Kenya has banned the performance, playing, or singing in schools of one of his song – Kwangwaru ft Harmonize.

The Chief Executive Officer, Ezekiel Mutua from the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has stated that the board is not allowing minors to sing songs that have coded purely obscene messages.

Mutua warned that the government will prohibit international music and performances promoting immorality, undermining Kenya’s cultures, customs and legislation.

Dances and discotheques must be regulated in such a way as to ensure that foreign artists do not flock to Kenya in order to erode our values, cultures and traditions.

Mutua warned teachers not to let students sing a hit for Kwangwaru. The boss of KFCB claimed that the KRA would start raiding clubs in which international performers would be held accountable and owners of establishments for refusing tax.

People who invite Diamond and others to perform even content banned in Tanzanian and any other country here. Stop evading taxation, because you deny government taxes if you make an agreement with that musician and wire the money directly. This is corruption.

Tanzania banned 13 local songs in March last year on the grounds that they are against the norms and values of the country.
