Netflix just announced that Young, Famous & African is coming back for a third season, and fans won’t have to wait too long—it drops on January 17, 2025. They also gave us a sneak peek with a brand-new trailer, and let’s just say, it promises all the drama and glam we’ve come to expect.
This season is all about fractured marriages, shaky friendships, and new connections, wrapped up in what the press release calls “premium tears.” If you’ve watched the previous seasons, you know the deal: big egos, bigger lifestyles, and moments that’ll have you talking long after the credits roll. It’s the kind of reality TV that feels like a rollercoaster you can’t get off—and honestly, why would you want to?
Season 3 is bringing in some fresh faces to shake things up. South African content creator Kefilwe Mabote, iconic Nigerian actress Ini Edo, and Ugandan internet personality Shakib Cham Lutaaya (yes, Zari Hassan’s husband!) are joining the cast. They’ll be mixing it up with returning stars like Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Diamond Platnumz, Nadia Nakai, Luis Munana, and more familiar names.
And, of course, Swanky Jerry is back with his larger-than-life personality. In the trailer, he boldly says, “I know it’s going to end in premium tears, but so long as I’m the king of the jungle, we’re good.” Classic Swanky.
This season promises more Sandton chaos—Africa’s richest square mile is about to get even wilder. Expect dramatic fallouts, surprising make-ups, and enough over-the-top moments to keep Twitter buzzing. Unfortunately, South African superstar Bonang Matheba won’t be returning after her big debut in Season 2, but the drama train isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Directed by Wesley Makgamatha and executively produced by Adelaide Joshua-Hill, Martin Asare-Amankwa, and Peace Hyde, Young, Famous & African is ready to deliver the glitz, the mess, and everything in between. Mark your calendars for January 17, because you won’t want to miss it.
