Netflix takes the lead at the NAACP Image Awards 2022, with 52 nominations, with titles including ‘The Harder They Fall’, ‘Passing’, ‘Bruised’, ‘The Upshaws’ and ‘Maid’ nominated across multiple categories.

KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA — The nominations for the NAACP Image Awards 2022 are officially in, with Netflix taking the top spot with 52 nominations overall encompassing titles across film and TV such as ‘The Harder They Fall’, ‘Passing’, ‘Bruised’, ‘The Upshaws’ and ‘Maid’.

The Harder They Fall from Netflix has been nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture, joining Warner Bros’ Judas and the Black Messiah and King Richard and MGM/UAR’s Respect. The United States vs. Billie Holiday from Hulu is one of four nominees in this category.

During the NAACP Image Awards 2022, people of color have the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements and performances across more than 80 categories spanning film, television, streaming, music, literature, and podcasts.

With 52 nominations, Netflix led the way among distributors; WarnerMedia had 55 nominations as a producer and distributor combined, based on the nominations from across its studios and networks.

The winners will be announced during a two-hour special on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at 8/7c on BET, hosted by seven-time NAACP Image Award winner Anthony Anderson.
