According to court documents filed on Tuesday, the “Terminator” star and the U.S. journalist have reached a settlement, officially ending their 35-year marriage.
Maria Shriver, a niece of the late president, filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2011 after he ended his term as California governor. Schwarzenegger admitted to fathering the couple’s child with its housekeeper about 14 years earlier.
The “Terminator” star confessed later that he had a secret affair with the home nanny, Mildred Baena, who bore him a son in 1997.

In a statement to the Los Angeles Times following his separation from Shriver, Schwarzenegger, who was governor of California from 2003 to 2011, said, “I mentioned this event to my wife after I left the governor’s office over a decade ago.” Schwarzenegger was governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
In the divorce filing, Shriver cited “irreconcilable differences.”.The couple met in 1977 and married in 1986. They have four children together.
