Socialite and media personality Sheilah Gashumba has reason to celebrate as she takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer at NRG Radio, Uganda. The station, launched just shy of two years ago, has quickly gained popularity in Kampala, particularly among urban youth, broadcasting on 106.5 FM.
Gashumba’s journey with NRG Radio began on February 10, 2023, when she joined as a radio presenter for the show “Total Access,” airing every Friday evening from 7 pm to 10 pm, alongside Zamn Zion and Ugandan DJ VX Faisal. Her dedication and contribution over the past year have led to her promotion to CEO.
NRG Radio officially announced Gashumba’s appointment via their social media platforms on April 1, extending a warm welcome to their new CEO. Gashumba herself shared the news with her followers, expressing her excitement and readiness to lead the vibrant youth media brand.
Having started her career as a teen’s club show presenter on WBS TV in 2007, Gashumba has since achieved significant milestones in journalism, including being the youngest journalist to cover the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2009. Her coverage for Daily Monitor’s CHOGM Teens column during this prestigious event underscored her early talent and dedication to the field.
With her new role at NRG Radio, Gashumba embarks on a new chapter, poised to bring fresh energy and innovation to the station’s programming.
