Wizkid, Diamond Platnumz, Sheeba Karungi, Nasty C, Khaligraph Jones, are the first performers announced to entertain revellers at the 2021 MTV MAMA Awards in Kampala, which is set to air globally on February 20.
Who will perform at 2021 MAMA Awards Kampala?
Diamond Platnumz, Sheeba Karungi, Suspect 95, Soraia Rakos, Wizkid, Nasty C, Khaligraph Jones, and Calema are the first performers announced to appear at the 2021 MAMA Awards Kampala (MTV Africa Music Awards Kampala 2021), which is set to air globally on Feb 20.
DJ Khaled is the official presenter or host of the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards Kampala 2021.
On January 26, 2021, the organizers of the Mama Awards announced the line-up of artists to perform in Kampala on February 20, 2021.
These first performers include;
- Wizkid (Nigeria)
- Sheeba Karungi (Uganda)
- Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania)
- Nasty C (South Africa)
- Khaligraph Jones (Kenya)
- Suspect 95 (Ivory Coast)
- Soraia Ramos (Cape Verde)
- Calema (Sao Tome and Principe)
Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz, one of MTV Mama Kampala 2021 nominee leaders, will return to MAMA after his energetic performance in 2016.
Sheeba Karungi, the first nominated singer-songwriter from Uganda, received two nominations in the Best Female and Best Ugandan Act categories.
More artists will be announced in the next few days, as well as the finalists for the Mama Generation Change Award, which recognizes those who create youth change on the continent.
In terms of nominations, Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz continues his musical reign after clearing the MAMA as the most nominated artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards Kampala 2021, hitting five nods in total.
This year’s show adds four new categories: MAMA Generation Change Award, Best Fan Base, Alone Together Best Lock-down Performance and Personality of the Year.
The show will air on MTV worldwide on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in 180 countries and regions. Fan voting is now open at https://www.mtvmama.com/.
The event will be broadcast on MTV Base (DSTV Channel 322) and MTV (DSTV Channel 130).
The one-hour Mama-themed MTV world-class feature will be rebroadcast on BET Africa and BET International and MTV channels across many continents.
