The host of ‘Myth Busters’, Grant Imahara died at the age of 49.

Grant Imahara, the presenter of Discovery Channel’s Myth Busters and Netflix White Rabbit, has died at the age of 49. He died suddenly due to brain aneurysm.

He worked as an electrical engineer and roboticist in the entertainment industry for over 20 years.

A different industry

In 2008, Imahara stated his initial goals:

“I loved designing and creating things, figuring out how something works, how to make it better or using it in any other way. When I was a kid I never wanted to be James Bond. I wanted to be Q because he was the creator of all gadgets naturally. I think you can say that came. ”

Imahara studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California. He developed his lifelong interest in robotics. During his school days, he discussed shifting his focus to screenwriting but ended up continuing in the STEM field.

Still, his career took him deeper into the entertainment industry.

Before moving to the visual effects division of the Industrial Light and Magic Company, he did lighting at Lucasfilms. There, he worked on Star Wars, The Matrix, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Eventually, he went in front of the camera as co-host of Mythbusters. Part of his mission in this series is to design and operate many robots that can be used to scientifically prove or disprove myths.

Later in his career, he went to Netflix, where he hosted a series called The White Rabbit Project, which combined his scientific brilliance with pop-cultural history.

Grant Imahara has died at the age of 49.

Dearly missed

Loved ones, fans and colleagues alike have expressed their grief on Twitter. Mythbusters co-host Gary Byrne tweeted a picture of the two titled “Sometimes I Want to Have a Time Machine”.

Co-host Adam Savage later tweeted: “I am at a loss. No word. I have been part of two large families with Grant Imahara for the past 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and artist, but such a generous, easy-going and gentle person. Working with Grant was a lot of fun. I will lose my friend. “
