Before the ceremony at the O2 Arena in London on 8 February, the nominees for the BRIT Awards 2022 have been announced.

The British Phonographic Industry’s annual awards platform, called the BRITs, was first held as an annual celebration of popular music in 1977.
The BRITs are awarding musical feats in 13 categories this year, including Artist of the Year, Group of the Year, Brit Rising Star, and International Artist of the Year.
One of the leading nominees is British-Nigerian rapper Little Simz, who has been nominated for four awards including Album of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
During the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, the musician was honoured with the Best International Flow award.
The hit single of Nigerian singer CKay entitled ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ has been nominated in the Best International Song category.
Ckay will compete against an extensive field of international talent, including Canadian stars Drake and The Weeknd, US singers Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, and many more.
Similarly, Holly Humberstone has been awarded the BRITs Rising Star award.
Last year’s BRIT Awards saw British rapper of Gambian descent J Hus win the Male Solo Artist trophy, edged out by fellow artists AJ Tracey, Headie One, Joel Corry and Yungblud.
During the BRIT Awards 2022, comedy icon Mo Gilligan will host the show.
