In a recent social media post, Nigerian Afro-fusion singer Burna Boy has discredited reports that he is to perform in Uganda next month.
KAMPALA | LIFESTYLE UGANDA — According to reports circulating on social media, Nigerian Afro-fusion star Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, is scheduled to perform in Uganda this year.
In an apparent attempt to override doubts about his performance at a concert dubbed ‘Burna Boy Live in Uganda on 25th December 2022, Burna Boy revealed on Twitter that the advertisement is fake and false.
He also clarified that he won’t be coming to Uganda anytime soon. This would be the second time Burna Boy has been announced to perform in Uganda after his show in March.
In the fake event poster posted on Twitter by the ‘Kilometer’ singer, it reads: ”REDBULL AND OUMA PRESENTS BURNA BOY LIVE IN UGANDA DATES OPEN 10 AM 25th AIRSTRIP NEWS sh5,000.000 RE CALL: 256753730167.”

Fake news of Burna Boy performing in Kampala at Kololo airstrip on the 25th of December follows the release of his sixth full-length album, Love, Damini.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J Hus, Vict0ny, Popcaan, Blxst, Kehlani, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, and Khalid contributed to the album ‘Love, Damini’, which was released on 8 July 2022 through Atlantic Records.
As of right now, Burna Boy has a heavy schedule. He and Jhene Aiko will be performing this weekend at the KULTURELAND Festival in the 6ix.
Taking place in Toronto, KULTURELAND is an annual music festival that celebrates Afro-fusion, Latin Urbano, dancehall and R&B music.
There will also be acts like Fireboy DML, WSTRN and Lojay playing at the Markham Fairgrounds during the KULTURELAND FESTIVAL on Saturday, August 6th and Sunday, August 7th.
