Daniel Kaluuya is a winner at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.
The 32-year-old actor was presented with the Best Supporting Actor award for Judas and Black Messiah at the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, but his speech was almost curtailed due to technical difficulty.
“As you can see, unfortunately, we have a bad relationship,” Laura Dern said when presenting the first award of the night. “We apologize for the technical problem and send all our congratulations to Daniel Kaluuya for his 2021 Golden Globe victory.”
It appears he accidentally turned off his microphone at the beginning of the speech he accepted. As the music began to play, Kaluuya’s audio was reconnected, and he enthusiastically accepted his award.
Between these unprecedented times, the festival was a two-wheeler affair for the first time, with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler appearing respectively from The Rainbow Room in New York City and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, and the nominees were from almost all over the world.
However, the globes were as popular as ever, as was Angela Bassett, Awkwafina, Tiffany Haddish, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, and so many other winners of this year.
