Less than a month after bidding farewell to Galaxy FM, one of Uganda’s top on-air personalities, Henry Arinaitwe — better known as Mr. Henrie — has found a new home. The award-winning presenter and entrepreneur was officially unveiled as the newest voice of NRG Radio, 106.5 FM Uganda.
The move marks a major shift in Uganda’s radio landscape. Mr. Henrie, known for his deep, relatable interviews and easy connection with listeners, is among the country’s most recognizable media figures. He also heads COMMFIX Agency, a communications and branding firm.
“For me, this is about growth,” he said during the announcement. “I’ve reached a point where I needed a space that matches my future ambitions, a brand that challenges me to think bigger and connect wider. NRG Radio provides that platform. It’s bold, it’s fresh, and it aligns perfectly with the direction I’m growing into.”

Mr. Henrie confirmed his departure from Galaxy FM in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, on Sept. 29, reflecting on what he called “nearly eight unforgettable years” at the Kampala-based station.
“After nearly eight unforgettable years at Galaxy FM and Galaxy TV, I officially announce my departure from the station that has been my home, my family, and the heartbeat of my career,” he wrote. “I sincerely thank the management of Galaxy FM & TV for believing in me—not only as a presenter but also by entrusting me with a management role in the capacity of PR.”
At NRG, his arrival is being framed as part of a broader cultural mission. Julius Kyazze, NRG’s Strategy Lead at AfriDigital, said the station’s goal goes beyond entertainment.
“We’ve always been about shaping youth culture, and now that influence is expanding into the mainstream,” Kyazze said. “What young people are creating, the world is now consuming. NRG’s voice, energy, and platforms are defining what modern African entertainment, fashion, and lifestyle look like.”
He added that bringing in talent like Mr. Henrie “strengthens our mission to drive culture forward, not just for Uganda, but for a new Africa that’s loud, confident, and globally influential.”
NRG Radio Uganda, which began broadcasting in 2023, has quickly carved out a place among the country’s most youth-focused stations. Operating both on FM and digital platforms, it blends music, lifestyle, and live interaction with listeners — a formula that’s helped it resonate with Uganda’s urban audience.
For Mr. Henrie, the move represents more than a new job — it’s a reset. After years of anchoring one of Uganda’s most listened-to shows, he’s stepping into a space that, in his words, “matches my future ambitions.”
And for NRG, his arrival signals intent: a statement that the fast-growing station is ready to play at the top of Uganda’s media game.
