Sanyuka TV has confirmed that Hasifa Nabbanja—better known to viewers as Haffy Powers—will co-host its flagship Morning Xpress programme alongside seasoned presenter Adam Kungu.
The move, announced by parent company Next Media Services, marks a significant moment in Uganda’s morning television landscape. It brings together two distinct on-air personalities with strong followings and a reputation for engaging storytelling and lively delivery.

Haffy Powers, a well-known media personality and entrepreneur, is recognised for her bold presentation style and deep rapport with audiences. She rose to prominence through her work on Kasukaali and Sumulula at BBS Terefayina, earning acclaim for her candid interviews and vibrant presence.
Her signing comes just weeks after Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa welcomed her to the organisation on social media, describing her as “incredibly smart and fearless” and hinting at a dynamic new chapter ahead.
On Friday, Sanyuka TV confirmed the long-anticipated news with a teaser followed by the official announcement. “Everyone’s been asking, ‘What show is @iamhaffypowers doing on @sanyukatv?’ Well… it’s finally here,” read the network’s post on X, formerly Twitter.
In her own message, Haffy called for support and prayers, adding: “With God’s guidance, let’s mash up this. Good luck to me.” She later said she was “thrilled” to be joining the Sanyuka team and co-hosting alongside Kungu.
Kungu, a respected broadcaster known for his quick wit and sharp analysis, welcomed the partnership warmly. “Haffy’s vibe is unmatched,” he said. “I’m really looking forward to the chemistry we’ll bring to the show. It’s going to be a blast.”
The pairing has already generated excitement among viewers online, with many calling it a “perfect match” and predicting a ratings surge for Morning Xpress.
Haffy’s career began in Uganda’s nightlife scene at Club Amnesia before transitioning into radio with Galaxy FM and later into television. Her appointment to Morning Xpress follows her official signing with Next Media on 15 April, marking what many see as a significant step forward in her broadcasting journey.

The new presenting duo is set to make their debut on Morning Xpress as early as Monday, ushering in a new era for the programme with a fresh mix of current affairs, entertainment, and lifestyle.
