Ugandan stars Vinka and Fik Fameica have joined forces once again, releasing Nyam Nyam—a high-energy single that blends dancehall rhythm with Afrobeat swagger.
The track dropped on 1 May and is already making waves. With vibrant visuals directed by Aaronaire On Set and production by Artin Pro and Trapex Boomin, the song marks a confident return for two of the country’s biggest names in music. Within days, Nyam Nyam had climbed to number 16 on YouTube’s trending chart for music in Uganda, with views approaching 45,000.
Playful, pulsing, and unmistakably catchy, the track leans into the chemistry that fans first witnessed on Tubikole—their 2018 collaboration that helped propel both artists to regional stardom.
“Six years on, and they haven’t missed a beat,” said one fan on X, reacting to the single’s premiere.
Nyam Nyam was co-written by Fik Fameica and songwriter Yese Oman Rafiki, and mixed and mastered by Artin Pro. Lyrically, the track dances between flirtation and rhythm, rooted in the kind of crowd-friendly hook that’s already making rounds on radio and in clubs across Kampala.
For Vinka—real name Nakiyingi Veronica Lugya—the single is the latest in a string of hits under the Swangz Avenue label. Known for her sharp delivery and dynamic stage presence, she’s carved out a signature sound with tracks like Thank God, Love Panic and Malaika.
Fik Fameica, born Walukagga Shafik, continues to bring his unmistakable lyrical flow to every release. With tracks like Omu Bwati, Rolex and Buligita, he’s become one of the most consistent voices in Ugandan hip hop and dancehall—balancing raw storytelling with slick production.
Nyam Nyam doesn’t just ride the wave of nostalgia—it points forward. It’s fun, confident, and firmly rooted in the present moment of Ugandan pop.
As the track continues to pick up momentum, the question for fans might not be if there’ll be another collaboration—but when.
