Yemi Alade, the self-acclaimed ‘ Mama Africa, ‘ is now the first female African artist to reach over 1 million subscribers on YouTube.

Remember that this feat is coming months after Alade became the second Nigerian artist to hit 100 million views on YouTube for the song, ‘Johnny’.

The good news was shared on June 29 by the crooner “Oh My Gosh” via Instagram where she said,

First female entertainer in # Africa to have more than # 1MILLION subscribers on @YouTube. God is the GREATEST, this journey began six years ago. Thanks to everyone streaming / watching my music and videos.  God bless us all

Yemi Alade’s channel currently has 1,001,681 subscribers as at this article, while Davido, who seems to be the highest for African male artists, has over 1.5 million subscribers.

Alade joins with this feat other entertainers, including the p-square (1.2 million), Davido (1.5 million), and Diamond Platnumz (2.1 million) with more than one million subscribers.
